2014 Portuguese 1:10th off road National championship - R1

The 1st Portuguese Off road 1:10th electric national championship will start the next weekend. It will be held at Porto, in the north of Portugal and organize by ACRP Clube Rodiomodelismo.

All Portuguese drivers are attempted for this 1st round. There will 4 rounds in 2014.

This weekend the first ever Portuguese 1/10 4WD and 2WD Offroad Nationals took place at the ACRP indoor track with 19 entries on 2WD and 27 on 4WD. The track is totally on carpet and has a fast and flowing layout, with a few tight corners, well designed jumps and plenty of entertainment.

2WD

Qualifying

Miguel Matias totally dominated qualifying, TQ'ing the first 3 rounds. Not much to say when you see this kind of doimination.

Finals

The 2WD finals were quite eventfull and Miguel Matias faced a good challenge from Ricardo Monteiro in the first final, but in the end he won with a 2 seconds advance. I the second final Matias took the lead and it was not challenged by any one this time, giving him the overall win.

4WD

Qualifying

4WD was a totally diferent game, but Miguel also Tq'ed 3 rounds with a convincing pace, but this time Bruno Coelho was there to challeng him and Tq'ed 1 round placing himself on the 2nd spot of the A main grid, just behind Miguel. Nuno Rebelo qualified in 5th place, Pedro Dias 9th and Tiago Vieira was 10th, so the team was really strong for the finals.

Finals

Miguel Matias once again took the win on the first 2 finals and was declared the winner of the race, Bruno Coelho although showed really good from qualifying got some bad luck (problem with Transponder) in the finals and finished 5th. Nuno Rebelo, Tiago Vieira and Pedro Dias both did a great job in the finals, finishing 3rd, 6th and 8th respectively.
