Posted November 19, 2013 Gmade Sawback GS01 Rock Crawler After what has felt like a million years, Gmade has finally released some more details on their highly anticipated scale rock crawler, the Sawback. Word is the Sawback will feature a nickel plated all steel chassis with scale c-channel side rails. Other features include a set of scale 1.9″ stamped steel style plastic beadlock wheels, dust proof receiver box, high strength plastic axles with locked diffs, a clear lexan body with a beautiful scale interior, and a set internal spring aluminum shocks! There is no word on the release date but we hear this kit will hit the market at around $270. Chassis The Gmade Sawback features a frame designed to look just like the chassis of a full size truck. It is constructed from high strength steel with c-channel style side rail and bolted cross members. The steel chassis parts are nickel plated for corrosion resistance as well as good looks. Receiver Box The Sawback’s dust proof receiver box is designed to look like the engine cover of a full size vehicle. It can be used to mount the receiver as well as the ESC. Battery Mount The battery mounting plate is designed to offer the lowest center of gravity possible for ultimate vehicle stability. It is adjustable to accommodate various battery sizes. Shocks The Sawback features a set of sweet looking CNC machined aluminum shock absorbers with internal springs for scale realism. Leaf Springs What would a scale truck be without a set of leaf springs? The Sawback features a set of steel leaf springs with scale u-bolts mounting them securely to the axles. Axles The Gmade Sawback rock crawler features a pair of axles constructed from high strength plastic with real metal differential covers. For the utmost off-road climbing performance, Gmade went with a solid diff. Wheels and Tires A set of 1.9″ MT 1901 scale crawling tires come mounted on a set of VR01 wheels. Built from high strength plastic, the beadlock wheels feature a scale “stamped steel” appearance. Body The Sawback includes a beautifully detailed clear lexan body which many would say resembles a vintage Willys Jeep. It features a full scale interior including seats, steering wheel, shifter, mirror and gauge decals. The plastic windshield can be folded down onto the hood just the like the real thing! Ball Bearings A full set of ball bearings are included for reduced rolling resistance.
