Posted September 1, 2009 1:10th Off-Road Wings / Ailerons pour buggies 1/10e Voici un résumé des ailerons avant et arrières disponibles pour les buggies 1/10 électrique avec les commentaires des fabricants. Ce résumé a pour but de regrouper et montrer ce qui se fait actuellement en la matière. Contrairement aux voitures de piste pour lesquelles l'ensemble de la carrosserie intervient, l'appui aérodynamique pour les buggies électriques est fourni en très grande majorité par le ou les ailerons que les pilotes utilisent, la carrosserie n'intervenant que pour peu. Les compétiteurs chevronnés sont capables de faire la différence en utilisant tel ou tel aileron en fonction des pistes et surfaces rencontrées. Il s'agit donc des informations de base, les expériences de tous permettront de faire mieux comprendre à ceux moins expérimentés l'utilité de cet élément. Toutefois, avant de jouer sur ce paramètre pour les réglages, il est important de rappeler que la maîtrise des paramètres de base (choix des pneumatiques, du trio ressort-huile-piston et de la géométrie) est primordiale, des documents sont disponibles sur ce site afin de mieux comprendre certaines subtilités. Posted March 6, 2013 JConcepts 7″ Hi-Clearance Wing One of most popular wings for 1/10th off-road buggies remains the 6.5” Hi-Clearance wing by JConcepts. Introduced during the 2011 IFMAR World Championships in Vaasa, Finland, the Hi-Clearance has shown incredible performance on all sort of circuits while fitting nicely on a vast number of 1/10th buggies. For 2013, JConcepts has brought a 7” wide version to the development table and introduced it to competition during the Reedy Race of Champions. A slightly wider base gives the wing a larger surface area which allows more stability during low and high speeds which provide some much needed grip in tricky situations. The Hi-Clearance sections near the end plates still allow maximum suspension compression and tire expansion. The 7” wing has quickly rose to the top of competition in 2013 with Jason Ruona taking TQ and first place at the Super Cup Championship Series while using it on the B44.2 vehicle. Posted March 14, 2013 As we cruised the pits on Wednesday at the Cactus Classic, we saw that Ryan Cavalieri was using what appeared to be a new style of wing on his RC10 B4.2. Upon further inspection, the wing appears to be a prototype model made by Updgrade RC. You may already be aware of their popular wing for 1:8 buggies. Posted January 16, 2014 LMR's second wing comes of the back of the ever popular Electra Wing! The new wing named the Avior of which is an extremely bright star, like the Electra. This wing has been again formed from super durable and high quality 1.5mm Lexan. It retains the Electra’s innovative side plates but now the centre section has been moulded flat so that it can house the 2nd piece of the wing. This small Duct wing acts to force air onto the rear gurney when at speed and has proved to make the car feel very controllable at high speeds when sometimes they can feel on the edge. Also the side plates have been formed so they can be much taller, with cut lines to help you choose the perfect amount of side bite for your track. The Avior wing also has a neat centre line to make sure you can mount it central every time. Avior can be used with or with out the 2nd piece to aid your set up even more. The 1.5mm/2.0mm thick material is highly reliable with less chance of breakage, while at the same time influencing the performance of the car as well. The thicker wings give higher traction and stability, but give reduced steering. This thicker wings are made from the same mould as the standard wing, and as such show the molded part number 363510.
