Posted October 21, 2008 Provided by X-Factory X-FACTORY TEAM DRIVERS SUCCESSFUL WITH "PRODUCTION" X–60 TRUCKS X Factory Team drivers have been testing their production prototype X – 60 truck conversions for about 10 days. All production prototype X – 60s got a good thrashing over the past weekend, with Brian Kinwald seen at Competition Hobbies, Paul Sinclair at Whitehouse Raceway near Nashville, Tenn, and Alex Krieg at S.R.S. in Scottsdale, Ariz. All four U.K. drivers were trucking at various venues over the weekend, and Alexander Valente ran his X – 60 for almost an hour at his home track in France. Big news is that the testers experienced just a single minor failure. The new molded chassis looks great, and the new graphite arms and CF tower fit and work correctly. The truck goes together well, and quality is superb. "This truck is just dialed," said Brian Kinwald from Competition Hobbies in Tucson, Ariz. "The mid-motor concept seems to work even better in truck than buggy. Sooo fast." Running on the loose gas track in Tennessee, Paul Sinclair said, "My X – 60 carries more corner speed and is easier to control than anything else on the track. We've made the parts extra robust: The chassis is about 0.020" thicker than most, and the shock tower is of 4-mm CF instead of 3-mm. This adds a small bit of weight which the truck seems to like, and the new LiPo and BL systems handle it just fine. My X – 60 is the fastest thing out there!" "There are a few minor glitches to report," said X Factory president Chazz Sinclair. "The molding company is temporarily out of our special plastic, so production will be delayed a few days. The material is now on a truck headed to California. And we still don't have the final rear body mounts; that tool is being made as I speak and we expect the first mounts about Nov 3rd. "But it's all coming together. Chris Krieg has written the first draft of the instruction manual, so a major bit of work is finished. And we got our first look at the body design yesterday; there's never been a truck like this! "We still expect X – 60 Kits in dealers' hands about November 10th. They will be available on www.2wdrc.com about November 8 or 9. Dealers will be shipped first, and retail customers can get their X – 60 Kits most quickly through their local hobby store. Final price is not ready yet pending delivery of the last parts." Photos are of Dan Greenwood's production prototype X-60.

Posted November 1, 2008 There have been many photos of the upcoming X-60 from X Factory but so far they have all featured old GT2 bodies. We’ve seen almost everything on the truck itself but nothing of the new body, which has been promised a design like nothing seen before. X-Factory have been keeping the prototype bodies tightly under wraps so we began contacting them several times a day, sometimes by phone, sometimes by e-mail but we kept being told there was nothing to report until finally Chazz relented, sending us this photo. He said: Our drivers are still arguing over the body design. I emphasize function over form, and I say, ‘Close the hole for greater downforce.’ But Brian Kinwald replies, ‘Close it and there will be too much downforce. Besides, this is waaay cool.’ So X Factory themselves still have not decided. All the Team drivers do like the roof air scoop to help with ECS/motor temps. Alexander Valente suggested they post this pic and let people comment on their forum at www.2wdrc.com but it looks like we’ve beaten them to it.
Posted November 1, 2008 Reçu du boss il y a 5 min, il doit lire Petit rc ;-) Design work on the truck is finished and production is being done. We have the first run of chassies now. The truck was designed for LiPo. The chassis Alexander has is a production prototype, and we made no changes, so his is just like the production ones. The standard battery strap will be CF like the one Alexander has now. We will not set the final price until everything is here.

Posted November 6, 2008 FIRST X-60 PICS WITH PROTOTYPE BODY We have just received new pix of the X Factory X - 60 Conversion Kit. These are the first photos showing the entire new body mounted on Paul's truck, and as X Factory has stated, we've not seen anything like it. The X - 60, expected to be on the market in about three weeks, converts the AE T4 into a mid-motor truck for improved handling in corners, over bumps, and in the air. Team driver Brian Kinwald said, "This thing is awesome. No other word needed. Awesome. It looks super-cool and is faster than any truck I've ever driven. All four of the Team trucks were dialed at the Reedy Race. Jeremy Felles put his in the Show with two great qualifying runs. Alex Krieg's truck was just stuck to the track. My X - 60 was super-dialed. In qualifier 3, a back-marker took me out while on a TQ run. "We worked very hard on this truck, changing everything several times as we went along to make it perfect. Like, we tried five different chassis lengths until we got the one that works best at most tracks. The whole thing has taken lots longer than we thought, but, trust me, it is worth the wait. And the body is great, Totally dialed!"

Posted November 26, 2008 X-60 DELAYED -- PROBLEMS WITH CF PARTS Should be Ready In About Two Weeks! We have been let down by our CF supplier. He's had the C.A.D. in his hands for almost three months now and did produce the prototype battery straps you have seen in various pictures. They're really cool -- a great design from Paul. We placed the order for hundreds of them over three weeks ago and have not received any so far. This supplier has done all our X - 6 shock towers and all the E-Speed CF parts, and he indicated he would do the shock tower and batt strap for the 60 too. Then, a month ago, he said he could not make the towers and we shifted that production to another supplier. We got prototypes in about a week, gave the final order for production last Monday, and may have the first run of towers in our hands before Thanksgiving. Now we are shifting battery strap production to this new supplier as well. In order to save time we will let him produce the first straps directly from the C.A.D. without seeing a prototype. The new supplier has been in this business a long time, so with any luck, we'll have the first batch before the end of November. The towers and batt straps are the last parts. Everything else is in hand now or will be here before Thanksgiving. We even have the first batch of decals from Vinyl Graphics Unlimited. So watch closely for the official announcement. Distributors will be shipped first, dealers second, and then the announcement made for retail sales. Purchase from an X Factory dealer will be the fastest way to get an X - 60 Kit. We still expect to have The New Math Truck shipped in time for Christmas.

Posted November 28, 2008 Ca se précise, reçu infos à l'instant : Please place an order soon for the K018 Kits, X - 60 parts, and all other parts you need. We hope to ship the X - 60 about Dec 15, and if we have your order we can move more quickly to get them into your hands before Christmas. Pour le prix, toujours pas d'info définitives, à cause d'un de leur fournisseurs : We are still not certain of pricing for the #1223, #1224, and #3312. These are the CF parts where we are having trouble with our suppliers. Won't know for sure until the invoices arrive.
