Halala, moi je dis qu'il faut attendre une vraie photo pour se faire une réelle idée, et connaitre les détails de l'auto.

Vi et attendre la version de production et les premiers retours pour savoir si ils ont fait les bons choix de matériaux :-)

Whilst the official Durango photographer took 2 whole photos of the as yet still under wraps DETC410 (from the agreed safe distance) I caught up with Elliott for the first time since I regrettably heckled him one drunken evening in Holland for not making the A Final earlier that day in the IFMAR ISTC worlds…

M: Elliott, have you fallen out with your body painter?

Elliott: Yeah that didn’t go well, painting isn’t my strong point, I didn’t have a lot of time to paint them, but there will be some proper painted shells soon

M: Durango is one of the really popular RC brands, they’ve captured a lot of racers hearts in a relatively short space of time, what is it like to be running a new car that so many people are dying to see and get their hands on?

Elliott: It’s really great, Durango is a close knit community we’re all great friends, passionate about what we’re doing so it’s really special to be part of a team working towards such an exciting product we’re all really proud of.

M: Can you tell us when the car will be available to buy?

Elliott: No, that’s not really my area, that’s down to the guys in the office.

M: Oh… um… (awkward silence) …monkey tennis?

Elliott: What?!

M: well… err what are your views on monkey tennis?

Elliott: I think it’s a great sport and everyone should watch it!

M: Oh, ok… should there be any rules?

Elliott: Well that’s your job as president to decide.

At this point I started to feel like we’d come full circle back to the bar in Heemstede, so I made my excuses and left.

We’ll have a much more useful conversation when Durango HQ are ready to cut the ribbon on the DETC410

étonnant que les férus de la marque n'ont pas vu cette information aujourd'hui (ou hier, tout dépend ou vous vous trouvé sur cette planète ^^ ) pour la rapporter ici.

1. Is servo tape under the servo necessary, is there a + or - effect with or without it?

2. The belt tensioner on the upper deck. Are the bearings supposed to be touching the belt, or is there supposed to be a gap? Set all the way up there is about a 2mm gap...

1. We recommend servo tape to ensure the servo does not move incase of any knocks or bumps. I have personally used servo tape on all cars I have run as I feel it makes the servo more secure and ensures the trim never changes. Hence we recommend using tape on the DETC410 too

2. I would advise to use the tensioner with the bearings just touching or just a little off the belt ~0.1mm. At high rpm, the front belt can vibrate due to its length, and the tensioner is used to prevent this vertical vibration.
