ACORN RACING, partner of PETITRC, is pleased to announce you the signature of a new driver recently: Fredrick Cederberg Fredrick Cederberg is Acorn Racing’s latest add on to the Team of Factory drivers. From Sweden, Fredrick is well know in the RC boat racing with several national championship victorys and has a record of being 3 times world champion in the class, he has also been reigning in the Swedish champion in 1:8EP and has won several EP races in 1:8 off road buggy classes and 1:10SC classes around Sweden the last years. Fredricks first outing with Acorn Racing Cells was the first round of the regional Stockholm cup at Västerort RCSK wich Fredrick TQed and won the 1:8 EP, Fredrick had following to say about the 6500mAh 80C LiPo Cells: These cells are great! They provided my Tekin ESC with 2650kv motor with lots of power and it also made me go the 10 minute finals easily. I recommend the cells from Acorn racing to all drivers from beginners to Professionals. ACORN RACING, partner of the PETITRC RACE 2012 for the second time in the row, contacted us to inform about the Nanyang Venture 5. Acorn Racing the first RC Lithium polymer Manufacturer and Brand from Singapore has collaborated with local school, Nanyang Technological University to build the Nanyang Venture 5. Nanyang Venture 5, Singapore’s only electric powered solar car in the Veolia World Solar Challenge, Australia, completed 2283 km without a single drop of petrol or diesel, and in just six days. Teams drove in the stipulated hours from 8.30am to 5pm, averaging 400km daily. The 11-strong NTU team came in 12th position in the race which featured 36 other teams from all over the world. The team’s supervisor, Associate Professor Ng Heong Wah, remarked that it was a more-than-respectable placing. He said, “Some teams from the US and Canada have strong solar racing traditions, and their cars are sixth, seventh or eighth generation. Ours is only the second generation. We have done very well.” NTU beat more established teams like those from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of California, Berkeley in the US and Cambridge University from Britain. This car measures 1.8m x 4.5m ,costs a total SGD 120,000 to manufacture excluding old parts from earlier generation car, generates 1,000 watts per hour and travels 400km on a fully charged battery. It reaches a top speed of 120km/h and cruises at about 75km/h; almost double the speed from the previous version. Different from an RC Car, this car is driven by racers from the project. This car is built with 21kg worth of Lithium Cells and Acorn Racing Ultra Flexi, Ultra Low resistant 12AWG wires that can be found on our batteries. Mr. P.Y.Tang from Singapore has signed with Acorn Racing to run and test its wide range of products. Since 1989, P.Y.Tang has competed in multiple national and international races around the world. As a racing Professional, PY Tang has claimed various podium positions in the following races: 3rd in 2000 ROAR 1/10 Canadian Electric 2WD Off-Road Championships, Champion in Tamiya Asia Cup Singapore Qualifying 2009-2011, 2nd in Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2010, 3rd in Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2011, and A-Main finalist in the Thailand International Touring Car Championships 2011 Stock 11.5T. Acorn Racing, partenaire de PETITRC, annonce la signature du jeune pilote de Singapour, Dominic Quek, agé de 9 ans comme pilote d'usine. 9 year-old Dominic started RC racing at the age of 4½ years. Used to racing against much older competitors, Dominic has exhibited his ability to compete despite his young age. He has travelled to take part in several international races, including the Czech round of the Euro Touring Series in 2010, the Reedy International Race of Champions in 2010 and 2011, and the 2009 Tamiya Asia Cup Finals in Bangkok, Thailand. As a relatively young company in the RC world competing against more established RC brands, Acorn Racing identifies with Dominic’s achievements and his “can-do” spirit. We are proud to have Dominic in our factory team, and look forward to accelerating the next stage of his development with all of Acorn Racing Race Equipments.

Thailand’s top driver, Mr. Paphon C. Paphon started his racing career in 2001, taking a 2nd position in Thailand Tamiya Stock Class and furthered his racing career in Tamiya Asia Cup and various big races around the region. To add on, Paphon had raced in other classes like Buggy EP1/10 by Traxxas in 2WD and 4WD, Buggy 1/8GP by Thunder Tiger, CEN, O’Donnell , Truggy class where he podium 1st and TQ powered by Traxxas in Femca race 2007 and Buggy from 2005 to 2011. In the EP Touring series, Paphon got additional support from Yokomo and went to race at Yatabe Arina for Yokomo Asia Cup which he got 6th position in April and headed down to Inaugural Acorn Racing Cup held in Malaysia achieving the TQ Spot and emerged Winner in October 2010. With the experience and talent he quickly rose to top rankings while competing in these races. With a total of 10 years racing experience and multiple wins in his RC career, Paphon will used his vast knowledge and experience to contribute to the races and development of Acorn Racing Products. Paphon tested the all new Acorn M.A.D Series Li-po 6000Mah/65C Speed Passion Motor in the recent races TITC 2011 inclusive. He was impressed by the power generated by this series of new cells and he could get the ultimate performance and punch which last for 8 minutes for both qualifying and finals. 2 packs were enough for the race and that is all he needed.
