Posted November 30, 2008 non! The X - 6 uses a different system which is not compatible with the 60 chassis. Therefore, the X - 6 continues with its molded strap, #1222, which fits both cells and LiPo.
Posted December 9, 2008 X-60 Shipping To Dealers! X Factory has received the first shipment of CF shock towers to fit the new X–60 Conversion Kit. The Kit converts the AE T4 to mid-motor configuration for much better handling in corners, over bumps, and in the air. The initial shipment of towers is not enough to complete all the Dealer Family orders - in fact, we have recieved less than 1/3rd of our initial order. We are going to put every tower we have into kits and ship all of them; every current X Factory dealer and distributor will get at least some Kits. Just this past weekend X Team driver Brian Kinwald TQed and WON the Southwest Invitational GP with his full production X – 60 this weekend, showing again the potential of this great truck. By all accounts Brian simply dominated the 15 minute A main, recovering quickly from an early bobble and leading the last 13 minutes of the race. Look for X Factory Drivers to be on top of the leader boards this coming weekend at the JConcepts Clash. We have worked all weekend completing the Kit bags, and X–60s will be shipped Monday Dec 8th and Tuesday Dec 9th. Every member of the Dealer Family should receive this exciting new truck by Dec 15th. Our second shipment of CF shock towers is scheduled to arrive about Dec 17th. We will complete the Dealer Family orders then and announce the Kit for sale at that time. X-60 Chassis Details! (Click to Enlarge) "The X-60 chassis represents a huge step up for X Factory, and I'm really looking forward to The Family's response when they finally get them in their hands. These are marvelous," says X Factory engineer Paul Sinclair. "Our previous parts have been good, no question, but the quality and precision of the molding seen in this new X-60 chassis is easily evident. It equals or surpasses anything else out there right now, and with many of the 'larger' companies moving produciton to China, we here at X Factory have much tighter control over the product we receive from suppliers." X Factory has learned a lot running the X-60 prototypes over the last year, and that development work can be seen all over the production chassis. Most obvious is the one-piece design, both on the front end and the forward rear hinge pin mounts. With less screws and parts assembly and maintenance are both improved. "The rear inner hinge pins now pivot in brass bushings that are simply pushed into the chassis, rather than the nylon bottom cover system used on our X - 6 buggy. I really appreciate this as a driver and engineer because it helps all around: The mold is smoother and so the plastic flows better, there's less wear over time than with the nylon, and while I intially thought the system would be fragile several hours with a hammer (and about six broken rear arms and lots of bent and broken hinge pins) I can tell you its tough as nails. There might be slight cosmetic damage after a tremendous hit (or lots of wacks with a hammer!), but the suspension still bolts up easily, freely, and most important precisely." These two pics show the new truck chassis along with the last hand-made prototype chassis Paul was running. "There are just tons of other features and improvements: swept up sides, the new battery mounting system, more room for electronics, simpler servo mounting, and so on... This is an exciting time for X Factory: we're growing as fast as we can make new parts, and the X - 60 is another giant step in that progress. www.2wdrc.com

Posted December 12, 2008 X-Factory daddy, Chaz Sinclair, introduced himself to me early in the day, keen to show me the companys latest masterpiece - the X-60, their electric 1/10th scale stadium truck. Unfortunately due to complications with the supply of carbon fibre for the shock towers, production has so far been limited to 100, all of which have now been shipped out to distributors across many different countries. Further production is expected to be in motion after December 20th. X-Factory celeb and multiple Euros A-Finalist Tom Cockerill was present with his X-60, along with team mates Brian Kinwald and Paul Sinclair who he chose to pit with instead of his oOple buds, but we don't hold grudges. www.oople.com

Posted December 21, 2008 The X – 60 and all its parts are NOW on the store for sale!! However, we will not be able to begin shipping orders until after Christmas. Late Wednesday Dec 17th we received this E-mail from the C.F. shock tower supplier. On Wed, Dec 17, 2008 at 3:21 PM, wrote: Hi Charles! Looks like you had fun in Florida, I was watching. Good job! Yes, your towers have already shipped, should be in your hands Friday or Saturday. Thanks for your order! We are writing this story Saturday afternoon, having received confirmation from the shipping company that our towers will be picked up today or Monday. So we won't receive them until Tuesday Dec 23rd at the earliest, and possibly not until the 26th. We will ship as quickly as we can in the sequence orders are received. Some kits may be shipped on Dec 27, but Dec 29 should be safe. It will be worth the wait... Merry Christmas to all!
Posted December 21, 2008 I was lucky enough to buy the last X-60 Chazz had at the Clash and figured I'd let everyone know what I thought of the truck. First, let me say, I'm not sponsored by X-Factory or anyone else for that matter. After I bought the kit I didn't have any intentions of running it since I was pretty comfortable with my T4 and didn't want to have to worry about figuring out the X-60 setup. Practice got canceled early Friday due to rain and after a little prodding from Paul & Chazz I decided to head back to the hotel and convert my T4. The one thing I notice when I opened the box was the molded parts were absolutely perfect. In the past, when I built my X-6, some of the molded parts needed some hand fitting/filing to clean them up. Not so on the X-60. The parts fit & finish is top notch. Since the left and right rear arms are same it means less spares to carry around, which is nice. It took about 2 hours to convert my fully assembled T4 into an X-60. Everything went smooth and was straight forward. For a setup, I used the same one that I used on my T4. I figured I'd start with that and adjust from there. The track was really slick for the 1st round of qualifying. The previous days rain and lack of sun had everyone searching for traction on the damp track. The truck felt good despite the lack of traction. It jumped well, turned in/exited corners well. The one thing that I was really surprised about though was how well it went into corners without spinning out. The back end of my T4 would wash out if you entered a turn too fast. Not the case with the X-60. I don't remember what I ended up finishing in the 1st qualifier... maybe third. For the second qualifier I added some lead in the 2 center front & rear battery slots and switched to blue Barcodes in back. The added weight and new rear tires made the truck perfect. Again, I was impressed how planted the back end of the truck was. If I pushed it I could get it to kick out, but it was much more controllable than my T4. I ended up finishing first for this qual. For the third qual it was pretty much the same as the second. I didn't change anything on the truck. By this time the traction had come up quite a bit and the truck still felt great. I again finished first in this qual. I ended up qualifying 9th for the main. That's pretty good for a new truck which I had zero practice with. At my local track I usually make the A, so I was happy with my starting position. I ended up finishing 10 or 11th due to popping a ballcup twice. I know... excuses excuses Overall I'm really happy with the truck. X-Factory really stepped it up a notch with the X-60. I can't wait to run it at my local track to see how much better I do with it compared to my T4 RC Tech
