Report of the race from Jorn Neumann:

Last weekend I attended the Lyon GP for the first time. I must say it was one of the best carpet tracks I ever raced on. It was very technical and had maximum traction. Really challenging for driver and the material.

On Saturday it was only 2WD, with 2 Rounds practice, followed by 3 Qualifications and 2 8min mains. After qualifying I found myself in the 3rd position with the brand new Serpent SRX2 MH. A1 was good until the last couple were I just was unlucky, but still finished 3rd. A2 and still the podium was wide open. After a couple laps I could take the lead with a decent gap to 2nd place and cruise to the end to take the overall win!

Sunday and it was 4WD time. This time with the new Serpent SDX4. After practice I was 4th, I needed to find some more consistency as on one lap I was right there. We made some small changes and improved my 5min pace, just unlucky again as a marshall run on the track and hit my car. Q3 was better and I made a safe run to secure 4th on the grid for this time three 5min A-mains.

A1 was a close race between Bayer, Wollanka and me, I finished 3rd just 1.5sec behind. A2 Again a really close race. I was up to 2nd behind Wollanka with just a couple laps to go, but hit a dot and spun out. Finished 2nd just 0.9sec behind.

A3 I got a good start and could overtake Lee Martin after a couple laps. I tried to push hard to catch Bayer, but it was too much and I had a couple of mistakes which put me down. Overall I finished 3rd.

Two times podium was a great achievement. Thanks to all my sponsors.
