Posted May 2, 2013 “ELVO” WINS LIEGE GP WITH X – 6 CUBED PROTOTYPE The track at Liege, Belgium, is well known for its great clay surface, giant size, and awesome layouts, and the MRCL club did not disappoint for this year’s edition of the annual GP Sunday April 28. The day started out chilly, then warmed up with just one brief shower mid-way through the program to hold down the dust. X Factory Team driver Bruno “Elvo” Heremans was there bright and early with his brand new X – 6 Cubed prototype for some early practice, and it paid off! Elvo TQed every round of qualifying and ran away with all three legs of the A Main, setting fastest lap in every race. Martin Vierin took second with an X – 6 Squared. Heremans allowed another driver to take the X – 6 Cubed for a few laps in practice. He described it as “nimble” and “plush,” and added, “Because it's so light, the chassis only really hits the ground when pulling a wheelie :-). And the steering is something else. So precise.” Back in the U.S., X Factory spokesman Chazz added, “We are working flat out to release the Cubed A.S.A.P. The last shipment of carbon fiber has been shipped to us and should arrive Wednesday. We are machining the aluminum parts now. We still expect to ship the first X – 6 Cubes to our Dealer Family later in May.”
Posted May 15, 2013 X FACTORY GOES TO A NEW DIMENSION FIRST BODY-OFF PHOTOS OF X – 6 CUBED We have obtained body-off photos of X Factory Engineer Paul Sinclair’s prototype X – 6 Cubed, and it’s an exciting new design indeed. In recent months X Factory has released photos with the body on, but they have kept the lid on details of the new car while final details of the design were worked out. As one can see from the photos, the X – 6 Cubed will be an all carbon fiber car in keeping with X Factory’s recently released SCX – 60CF short course and the X – 60CF stadium truck. Spokesman Chazz Sinclair said, “We will be an all-carbon fiber company in about 6 weeks when the Cubed is released. Both the X – 6 Squared and X – 60 will still be available; they are molded chassis cars and there are certain advantages to that. But we believe most customers will prefer the lightweight, narrow carbon fiber cars.” While the X – 6 Cubed is similar in some ways to the X – 60CF and SCX – 60CF, that basic design has been changed and updated to many buggy-specific changes. Engineer Paul Sinclair explained: “Buggies are lighter and shorter, so you want different charac- teristics in how they take bumps, jump, and corner. Especially, they must flex differently - we have achieved that in the X – 6 Cubed.” Several important features of the new X – 6 Cubed: • Carbon fiber construction. • New top deck for easily adjustable chassis flex. Adjust both the amount of flex and where the chassis flexes. • New slim design for better cornering, performance over bumps. • Very close to minimum legal weight. Lighter than other buggies. • Moves rear shock tower forward. This moves the wing forward for better performance in the air. Many think it looks better too. • Great carbon fiber and polished aluminum look. • All new body and medium-downforce wing. Existing high-downforce wing still fits. • Retains X Factory’s great 4-Gear transmission. • Retains the X – 6 Squared’s rear pivot and control arms. • Uses either saddle or shorty pack; both can be moved forward or back to change weight distribution. Paul Sinclair said, “The car in these photos is my prototype car, and there are a few minor changes between this and final production. The biggest one is the way the ball studs are mounted to the rear tower; in production, the ballstuds will be in the same location but mounted vertically. Also, the body mounts are not on my car. Otherwise, this is it.” Chazz added, “Eight Team drivers in U.K. have Cubes, along with one in Belgium, one in Australia, and six U.S. Team drivers. Every one of them reports 2-3 tenths faster lap times than with their Squareds. More important, every one says the Cubed is even easier to drive fast than the Squared. That’s hard to believe, but they are unanimous. They describe the X – 6 Cubed as ‘light and nimble’ compared to the Squared. The Cubed truly is higher math.” The X – 6 Cubed should begin shipping to dealers in early June. All dealer orders will be filled before the car is released for retail sales on X Factory’s web store, so the fastest way to get one is from your local hobby store. The car will be available two ways: a Conversion Kit for the AE B4/4.1/4.2 and an UpGrade Kit for the X – 6 Squared.

Posted May 18, 2013 quelques infos de darren boyle (oople) pour passer du x6 au x6 cubed Assuming it is 4 gear, all you will need will be the Cubed "Ugrade Kit" (not the more expensive "Conversion" kit) and you will need the X6 Squared rear wishbones (XF3012) and hinge bushes (XF6142)and possibly some servo mounts too otherwise you are good to go...... If you do have a 3 gear, additionally to the list above you will need the 4 gear transmission case (XF5001), another idler gear shaft (XF5201), a pair of idler gear bearings (XF6202) and an Associated B4 idler gear (AS9360), a 4 gear motor plate of your choice - you have a large selection to choose from depending on your taste - standard kit alloy version (XF1232), or optional ones such as X-Factory Real Men Wear Black, black version (XF1233), E-Speed blue milled version (ES009), DDP blue milled version (DDP024), DMS Partz carbon fibre version (DMS133) or even the Optimized RC ones in red or blue (OP002 or OP004) Posted by KickMe Which one are compatible with the gear cover? Is the motor plate from the B4 conversion kit compatible? By the way thanks for your pics Darren, they look very good. The motor plate we have used on the prototype cars has been made by one of our UK team drivers and it accepts a cut down B4 gear cover, however X-Factory are working on a new motor plate that will be supplied in the kits and for the Cubed this will also have provisions for a future gear cover too......... The B4 motor plates will not fit.
