For a great website for Custom Aluminim and Brass parts for the 22 2.0, 22, 22T and 22SCT http://www.rocket-rc-parts.com/

A little late to the game, now that they are obsolete with the introduction of the 22 2.0 in which the caster block geometry is changed.

For anyone running a 22SCT you want to consider a dirt cover/overtray (TLR4142) to protect your electronics from the elements.

Much cleaner, neater, and lighter........... well done!

I am sorry, but that is not true. I have 4 total 22's, 2 buggies, a 22T, and a 22SCT - the one buggy is raced only indoors and the other is raced exclusively outdoors. Both steering racks have roughly the same amount of slop, and roughly the same amount of race days are on both cars. From new, yes, these racks are very snug - sometimes too snug. And once you've run a few packs through the cars the steering rack does loosen up and develop a little slop - but that is good, because you don't want your steering linkage binding and diminishing the performance of the car. Does this inexpensive ($4 USD) part need to be replaced from time to time? Sure, just as any of the heavily moving items need to be replaced - whether it's the steering rack, or the suspension arms or piviots. But that doesn't make the design faulty. But the steering rack is cheap, and can be replaced dozens of times for what this exo replacement costs. As long as you are cleaning the rack, which basically consists of spraying it with compressed air, on a regular basis, it's no more sloppy (or get bound up) than any other steering system - including bellcranks - out there. But, if you don't maintain your vehicles, it does not matter whether it's the stock steering rack or bellcracks, you're going to have issues. Sorry, but I just despise the posting of misinformation suggesting there's something wrong that just doesn't exist.

I would have no problem converting, or paying the price, if the stock/kit steering rack was faulty and didn't work. But I have two 22 buggies, a 22SCT, and a 22T-R - and I've broken one steering rack over three years of racing. Steering bellcranks are so 1990s, I'd be embarrassed to be reverse-engineering just to throw another $70 USD at the car that doesn't improve anything.

Nice!

$70 USD - for bell crank steering? No Way! What A Bad Joke!

If any of you 22T owners/racers have been struggling with your trucks, I came up with what I call the "Rocket" modification for them that transformed the on-track performance of my own. Give this link a look; turning your own into a 22T-R might turn it into a race winner > http://www.petitrc.com/setup/losi/setuptwentytwot/22TR_RocketFrontEndModification/ > If anyone has any questions, feel free to inquire. I am positive I can help you sort through things.
