Gmade Sawback GS01 Rock Crawler

After what has felt like a million years, Gmade has finally released some more details on their highly anticipated scale rock crawler, the Sawback. Word is the Sawback will feature a nickel plated all steel chassis with scale c-channel side rails. Other features include a set of scale 1.9″ stamped steel style plastic beadlock wheels, dust proof receiver box, high strength plastic axles with locked diffs, a clear lexan body with a beautiful scale interior, and a set internal spring aluminum shocks! There is no word on the release date but we hear this kit will hit the market at around $270.

Chassis

The Gmade Sawback features a frame designed to look just like the chassis of a full size truck. It is constructed from high strength steel with c-channel style side rail and bolted cross members. The steel chassis parts are nickel plated for corrosion resistance as well as good looks.

Receiver Box

The Sawback’s dust proof receiver box is designed to look like the engine cover of a full size vehicle. It can be used to mount the receiver as well as the ESC.

Battery Mount

The battery mounting plate is designed to offer the lowest center of gravity possible for ultimate vehicle stability. It is adjustable to accommodate various battery sizes.

Shocks

The Sawback features a set of sweet looking CNC machined aluminum shock absorbers with internal springs for scale realism.

Leaf Springs

What would a scale truck be without a set of leaf springs? The Sawback features a set of steel leaf springs with scale u-bolts mounting them securely to the axles.

Axles

The Gmade Sawback rock crawler features a pair of axles constructed from high strength plastic with real metal differential covers. For the utmost off-road climbing performance, Gmade went with a solid diff.

Wheels and Tires

A set of 1.9″ MT 1901 scale crawling tires come mounted on a set of VR01 wheels. Built from high strength plastic, the beadlock wheels feature a scale “stamped steel” appearance.

Body

The Sawback includes a beautifully detailed clear lexan body which many would say resembles a vintage Willys Jeep. It features a full scale interior including seats, steering wheel, shifter, mirror and gauge decals. The plastic windshield can be folded down onto the hood just the like the real thing!

Ball Bearings

A full set of ball bearings are included for reduced rolling resistance.

The iconic VW Beetle is captured in amazing detail with the totally new mid-motor 2wd M10DT platform from Carisma. Officially licensed by Volkswagen, Germany the M10DT Beetle bodyshell is produced in a special matt desert military green finish, creating a stunning scale look. Additional moulded head and taillights, indictors, mirrors, door handles and rear engine detailing brings this Beetle to life. But it doesn’t just stop there. A moulded roof cage with light bar (optional LED lights are available) is factory mounted and the final touch is unpainted accessory moulding of oil drum, tool boxes, petrol cans, bags and spade that allows you to take scale realism to a whole new level. Oh and did we mention the muddied look wheels and tyres?

What lies beneath? Well Carisma have paired up the Beetle with their brand new 2wd mid-motor platform the M10DT. This chassis design features an aluminium main chassis with protective mould bumpers front and rear, as well as side nerf bars. The mid-motor gearbox includes a full metal differential for maximum reliability, along with an adjustable slipper clutch. Drivetrain is ball bearing supported, along with front ‘live’ bearing axles that accept 12mm hex fit wheels. Wide track suspension front and rear is handled by oil filled shock absorbers.

The M10DT Beetle comes standard with a water resistant brushless speed control, water resistant steering servo and a water resistant receiver box and receiver. A 540 brushless 3000Kv brushless motor provides exceptional power and everything is controlled by Carisma’s own 2.4ghz radio system. XT60 connectors are included for your choice of LiPo or NiMH battery.

# Dig Mode is the standard mode. It uses drag brake to create dig. This mode requires a proportional switch or a simple three-position switch to operate.

# Proportional Dig Mode. Using the third channel on a three-channel surface receiver, Novak’s patent-pending, proportional dig software allows drivers to fine tune the amount of power supplied to the individual motors. This innovative feature provides seemingly endless mixing between the vehicle’s two motors.

# Single Motor Brushed Mode is for drivers with single-motor crawlers. This mode allows drivers to solder all four motor wires to one brushed motor for improved performance in single-motor applications. This mode uses a standard two-channel operation for single or dual-motor control. A third channel is required for dig operation.

In addition to crawling applications, the M2 Dig 3S ESC is ideal for applications that require two motors, such as robots, boats, tanks and submarines.

The M2 Dig 3S ESC can be fine tuned via Novak’s fully adjustable PC interface, the NovaLink™ (#5440). The NovaLink software is

purpose-built for crawling.

ON-BOARD AND PC ADJUSTABILITY

All three of the throttle profiles can be easily adjusted through Novak’s tried-and-true on-board set-up. There are four PCB-mounted LEDs to aid in programming and two different-colored external LED indicator lights – located at the ends of six-inch harnesses – that visibly display when a motor is locked and the vehicle is ready to dig. Additionally, the M2 Dig 3S ESC can be fine tuned via Novak’s fully adjustable PC interface, the Novalink™ (#5440). The Novalink software is purpose-built for crawling and assists in adjusting the speed control’s programmable features.

The powerful speed control also comes equipped with instant reverse via Novak’s Zero Reverse Delay, which provides immediate power delivery in both forward and reverse directions.

NO MODIFICATIONS NECESSARY

Like Novak’s Electronic Dig Unit (#5450), the M2 Dig 3S ESC does not require any vehicle modifications to install or operate. Simply plug it into any three-channel surface receiver, and you’re ready to crawl! The M2 Dig 3S ESC is easily programmed into most three-channel transmitters, such as the Spektrum® DX3R DSM2 3CH Surface Radio™, Airtronics’® M8 and M11 R/C Radios™, and a Traxxas® (TQ-3) Transmitter™.*

Coucou !

Bonjour a tous.
